Sometimes I feel the same way at breakfast time, Febes......
After having Luke Skywalker home all last week with a chest infection, this week the baton has been handed to Mac Attack, who is home today with Viral Croup. (Even saying it makes my throat start to hurt) Doctor Jellybean says there's nothing to give to fix it -just the usual fare - parecetamol for the temps - not even Vicks. Did you know a "study" has been done on good ol' trusty Vicks Vapour Rub and its copped a sledging?!!!! Will try creating that jungle like environment with the Vapouriser machine (not good for my just straightened hair) to help curb the seal barking cough. Any good remedies anyone has that has a pretty good success rate with Croup, feel free to pass on.

Why not try a dose of the old ground coffee beans chucked over the kid's head. They seem to work for everything else.
ReplyDeleteMmmm...I'm liking that idea....thanks Kerry for your input
ReplyDeleteFirstly, Nothing makes more sense than Dr.Kerry's suggestion...however, given that it's unlikely that you'l actually do it...I offer the following :
ReplyDelete1. Someone brave told me that you have to let them have their high temperatures and so to only give panadol for pain...the longer you can tolerate them having a high temp the quicker they will recover.....apparently.
2. I have no idea.
3. Book a room in a hotel.
Very cute pic of Febes by the way.
ReplyDeleteMy Chiro has always told me to let the kids "burn" when they have a temp also. Just strip em down to singlets and shorts, stick them into bed next to you and let the fever do its job, he says. I always chicken out around 38.5. 39 is my absolute limit.
